Pherecyde Cave

On the road to Ano Syros and just after the rural settlement of Kiperoussa is the Cave of Ferekydis. To reach the cave, one follows a small dirt road that slowly begins to descend, leading travelers to a magical landscape between the earth and the sky and with a view of the blue horizon. The theogonist poet and philosopher Ferekydes stayed in this cave during the cold winter months in the 6th century BC.

Kini Aquarium

Kini is a picturesque seaside village of Syros. It is located on the west side of the island and is 7 kilometers from the capital Ermoupoli. It is a fishing village with beautiful beaches, many accommodations, taverns and cafes and is considered one of the most touristic settlements of Syros.

Casino Syros

The Syros Casino started its operation in April 1997. The facilities cover an area of 1200 square meters – the same area as the former hotel “Europe” in a traditional building dating back to 1830. With the restoration of the building, all the historical and Cycladic elements were “reverently” highlighted, creating a real gem. The new, renewed and beautiful Syros casino is a unique experience that you must live to discover for yourself that it is one of the most beautiful casinos in Europe.

Ermoupolis Town Hall

The Ermoupolis Town Hall is a building designed by Ernesto Chiller and constructed between 1875 and 1891 in the capital of Syros. It is built on the north side of the central square of Ermoupolis, right on the axis of the main shopping street Ermou Street (today’s Eleftheriou Venizelou Street). The building of the Ermoupolis Town Hall is monumental and looks more like a palace.

Apollon Theater

The Apollo Theatre, also known as the Apollo Municipal Theatre, is a theatre located in Ermoupolis, Syros. The emblem of the cultural development of Ermoupolis, it was built in 1862-1864 to designs by the famous Italian architect Pietro Szabo and its design is influenced by at least four Italian models. Its operation began on April 20, 1864, with Verdi’s Rigoletto.
